The Circus

A huge fan of vintage circuses ever since reading I Spy: Fun House over 12 years ago, I was over the moon to discover a big, heavy book at Barnes and Noble recently, entitled The Circus, 1870s-1950s. It's very artistic and colorful, styled almost like a scrapbook, and contains tons of full-page circus photos I've never seen before. Just my kind of brain/eye candy! In this post I've included scans from the book, plus other circus pictures from my collection. Some of these were taken by Stanley Kubrick before he became a filmmaker.
