Beautiful Days Gone By

A few days ago I came across this enchanting picture from what I'd guess to be the late teens. A group of ladies gathering daisies in a field. The girl in front seems to have gone a bit overboard! After a long hard day at work, looking at this idyllic scene is especially lovely. I love the focus and contrast of the photograph, it almost looks like a painting. That's part of why it's so magical and compelling. What a beautiful, carefree day for those ladies.

  3. Hello--I saw this image and figured right away--these were Vassar students preparing to create the daisy chain, a graduation tradition. Here's a link from Vassar's home page. I found your page because I'm looking for images of Miss Columbia--you have one I've never seen, even!

    All the best,
    Francis
