August Haze

As the last full month of summer comes to an end, I'm enjoying the final muggy August days as much as I can. They go by so fast. It feels like this summer has been both longer than usual, and much too short. It has been a happy one. But soon there will be no flowers, my yard will no longer be green and lush, and the breeze won't smell of growing things. As I look back on all the perfect days I wish I could return to, I've come to realize that all one can really do is collect precious memories of the moments we can never get back.
