The First of September

I can hardly believe it's September already. I have enjoyed summer most thoroughly, and now I'm ready for things to cool off and slow down a bit. I can feel changes beginning to creep into the air. Some trees have begun to turn yellow, and it feels like autumn is truly on the approach when the sky is pewter and rumbling with thunder in the morning, or you settle down in the evening with a cup of tea and Al Bowlly on the radio.

I am so looking forward to all the traditional autumn activities, from pumpkin picking and spending more time in the library, to baking plum tarts and brewing mulled cider from my mother's recipe book. Who else is addicted to Victorian Trading Company's fall catalog?

And I'm especially excited about all the new goodies I have in store for my blog this season. I've been gleefully collecting all the best vintage images I can get my hands on, especially those with a seasonal theme or vibe. You know me and my themes and vibes.
